CHURCH COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

October 22, 2007

Council accepted the report by the Marriage Equality Ad Hoc Committee and approved a motion calling for a special congregational meeting on January 13, 2008, to vote on an amendment to the ONA Resolution adding the words "including marriage" to the end of the sentence "We covenant to welcome and affirm every person…" The Committee will continue to seek and implement ways we can stay in community with each other during times of disagreement.
 

Sharry joyfully announced the hiring of Boone Davidson as our new Youth Coordinator and Ryan Knight as our new College Coordinator.
 

The Stewardship Campaign officially concludes Sunday, October 28, with a breakfast before worship and the dedication of pledges during worship.
 

The Budget Committee anticipates further work preparing a balanced 2008 proposed budget after the Stewardship Campaign concludes.
The committee studying ways to retire the outstanding building debt will begin meeting in November.
 

Council accepted proposal by Search and Call Committee for areas of flexibility when negotiating the Terms of Call with the new Lead Pastor.
 

Stephen Ministry needs additional Stephen Ministers and Leaders to fulfill its important mission of care giving.
 

Everyone is encouraged to fill out the Time and Talent survey available online and in the church office.
 

Board of Trustees presented a proposal for a new endowment fund to be discussed at next month's meeting.
