CHURCH COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS January 5, 2009*   *this meeting was re-scheduled from December Rob Olason reported from the Search and Call Committee. The Committee read 59 Ministerial Profiles and has narrowed the prospective Lead Pastor candidates to twelve. Of these, eight to ten will be contacted for telephone interviews to be scheduled later this month. In addition to reviewing Profiles, the Committee has been checking websites and reading and listening to sermons online. Deadline for submitting Profiles is January 15. (Note: this was changed to February 1.) MSP (Moved, Seconded and Passed) to accept Nominating Committee report (some vacancies yet to be filled) MSP to extend Pastors Jane and Savage's contracts to March 15, 2009 with no change in compensation MSP to accept Budget Committee's proposed Budget Development Guidelines (with some modification by Council). MSP to accept Budget Committee's recommendation for allocation of 2008 difference between income and expense (app. $15,400). MSP to accept Budget Committee's proposed Budget Scenario A (with some modification by Council). Annual Meeting planning includes a celebration of new babies, new members and members who have died in the past year. The meeting will conclude with Communion.
