THE GROUND FLOOR

(The Love & Justice Space)

A joint project between First Congregational Church & Northwest Youth Services

The Ground Floor is a new mission of First Congregational Church. We are partnering with Northwest Youth Services to provide a safe space where 13-24-year-olds experiencing homelessness can connect with resources and experience radical welcome.

We are grateful for the work that Northwest Youth Services already does in our community, and we’re excited to help them grow in this way. First Congregational will provide building space and support, and Northwest Youth Services will staff and operate the program.

We are beginning the fundraising to make this project a reality. If you’d like to support it, please visit our GIVING page under the CONNECT tab.

Below is the schematic of the proposed plan for The Ground Floor. The salmon area is the space to be occupied by Northwest Youth Services. The plans were approved at our November 12 congregational meeting, so we're moving ahead with the plans!

Here's a video tour of the space as it is now. Walk with Rev. David Weasley through the space and imagine it as it will be.

‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and didn’t do anything to help you?' Then he will answer, ‘I assure you that when you haven’t done it for one of the least of these, you haven’t done it for me.’

Matthew 24:44-45, Common English Bible
