Anti-Racism: Becoming a Treaty People

 

The Mission and Justice Board invites you to special fall events focused on Becoming a Treaty People. More details will be in the Friday Announcements.

 

  • October 1—Families can pick-up learning kits in the church narthex
  • October 9—Community-wide Indigenous Day Celebrations. Information will be in the Friday Announcements and the Full Circle blog about specific events you can attend.
  • October 17 at 7:00 pm, in the Sanctuary —Darrell Hillaire. Lummi Elder and founder of Children of the Setting Sun will be a featured speaker with a discussion to follow.
  • November 12 after worship in the Social Hall —Informal Coffee Hour discussion of Mt. Baker Theater Production of Aunties: Women of the Salish Sea
  • November 14 at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary —Darrell Hillaire and Lummi youth will lead a presentation on “After the First Thanksgiving”.

 

These programs and resources are made available through a grant from the UCC Pacific Northwest Conference and in collaboration with the Children of the Setting Sun and the Whatcom Multi-faith Indigenous People’s Allies.
