Anti-racism Discussion Series Begins October 17 - “Becoming a Treaty People”
The First Congregational Church Anti-racism series will begin on October 17 at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary with a discussion on treaties led by Darrell Hillaire, Lummi Elder and founder of the video company, Children of the Setting Sun. Most Indigenous people know that their ancestors envisioned a strong future for them through treaty negotiations. This discussion will take the perspective that treaties are for everyone who lives on these lands, and everyone who can benefit from them. Join Darrell and others in learning about ways to become a “Treaty People” and discuss present solutions for working together to benefit the lands we share.
