Undoing Racism Walk – June 2, 2024, 11:30 am
Bellingham is a welcoming home for many and has a long history of violent exclusion that remains with us today. Join with others to experience a walking tour of historical (downtown) Bellingham that will take us from the arrival of the first non-Native settlers on Coast Salish land in the 1850s through the exclusion of Asian Americans and African Americans in Bellingham in the 20th century and the ongoing struggle for social justice in the 21st.
Led by WWU professor, Josh Cerretti, the tour will begin at the Totem Pole in front of the Bellingham City Hall and last for approximately 75 minutes. Space will be limited so please signup.
A video will be provided for those unable to attend the walk that day. Watch the blog for the link.
