Faith Formation

  • It’s a wrap! It was a great week at Creation Care camp! 24 kids participated, up from 16 last year! Thanks to the children who participated, to the parents and grandparents who brought them, and to the volunteers and staff who made it happen.

  • Faith Formation is excited to announce an affiliate ministry for our broader community, the Peer Philosophy Group for Young Adults.

  • The Faith Formation Board of First Congregational Church of Bellingham maintains a small special interest library in the church. The collection focuses on books about the bible, Christian history, theology, and social action.

  • The Membership Board, collaborating with the Faith Formation Board is pleased to invite members and friends of 1st Congregational Church to engage six vital themes of our faith during Lent.  This Zoom discussion will be held on Wednesdays from 5:30 – 6:30 pm.

  • The Faith Formation Board is pleased to announce the 2023 All Church Read. Our chosen book is Speak with the Earth and It will Teach You by Daniel Cooperrider. It is an analysis of the Bible’s treatment of nature. It is a timely work on the gift of the Earth that makes a strong case for environmental conservation as a cornerstone of religious life. The book is now in stock at Village Books. Check the Reading Groups section near the front door to receive a discount on your purchase. Copies are also available in the church library.

  • You are invited to Meet Me in the MIddle Wednesdays, from 12 noon-1 pm

Give us part or all of your lunch hour for a Zoom conversation that invites you to look at the Bible in a fresh way.

  • The 2023 All Church Read Selection has been made! The book will be Daniel Cooperrider, Speak with the Earth and It Will Teach You - A Field Guide to the Bible.

We plan to read it together in Adult Forum but will not begin for a couple of weeks to allow books to arrive at Village Books
