From the Pastors

  • Dear Church,

I have good news about our continuing relationship with Northwest Youth Services. As many of you know, First Congregational is proud to host The Ground Floor, a daytime program space for young people experiencing homelessness, in a beautiful, custom-built space under our sanctuary. Young people can access housing and other support services, as well as basic care like showers, a place to take a nap, simple food and more.

  • Dear Church, We had a bit of a surprise at the church building on Monday morning.  When Kurt, our stalwart Custodian/Maintenance staff person, showed up for work, there was some damage to one of our windows.  It seems that at some point during the night or early in the morning of Monday, someone threw a brick through one of our windows.

  • Lead Pastor’s Annual Report 2021: I give thanks to the Spirit and First Congregational members for helping our church through this year. We are living through a time of cultural and societal change, and it is rare to recognize that is happening when in the midst of it.

  • Dear Church,

If you’re anything like me, you spent much of Sunday evening and Monday watching the rain, worrying about neighbors, and looking at pictures and videos online of the flooding throughout our community.
