Changes at the Church Library!

The First Congregational Church Library

The Faith Formation Board of First Congregational Church of Bellingham maintains a small special interest library in the church. The collection focuses on books about the bible, Christian history, theology, and social action.

A Growing Collection

Responding to the needs of our congregation, emphasis in recent times has been on growing resources in the following areas:

  • Climate Justice and Creation Care
  • Anti-racism and Racial Justice
  • GLBTQ+
  • Poverty and Economic Justice
  • Poetry

    A Shift in Emphasis

Once a place for research and a quiet reading room, our library is shifting its focus to circulation. Members and friends are encouraged to take books from the library, keep them for the time needed, and return them to select other books. A simple sign out sheet allows members to self-check out books.

    An Online Catalogue

Click on this link to browse our online catalogue: https://www.librarything.com/catalog/FCCB_library. The catalogue also allows you to write brief reviews of books and read the reviews of others.

    The Children’s Library

First Congregational Church of Bellingham also has an excellent collection of children’s books and resources. The children’s library is not currently available online, but work is continuing to bring those resources to our web site.
