The Mission & Justice Board is seeking volunteers for the Dental Van Mission.
We are looking for volunteers to help with patient intake -- helping get patients' paperwork in order and maintaining the waiting list for service. Typically, this involves approximately two hours on the day of the clinic, usually on the third Monday of every month at the Bellingham Food. The next clinic is scheduled for September 18.
We are also looking for local dentists and dental assistants. While the dental vans have two chairs, we usually have only one volunteer dentist. Typically we turn away as many prospective patients as we actually serve. Therefore, we are asking you to talk to your dentist, or dentists and dental assistants you know, to see if they are interested in volunteering.
