Faith Formation in Advent

There is a lot going on in the Faith Formation department this season! Here's a run-down!

Advent is arriving! This Sunday, November 27, is the first Sunday of Advent. The children will create Advent calendars during Church School to mark the days as we journey toward Christmas. Come, join the fun!

The Adult Forum will share a special Advent series, listening to different voices speaking on the meaning of Advent

Advent 1: November 30: The Theologians Speak.

Advent 2: December 7: The Children Speak.

Advent 3: December 14:  Indigenous Voices Speak

Advent 4: December 21: The Poet Speaks

Everyone is welcome to join this group on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm by Zoom. Contact the office for the Zoom link.

The Faith Formation Board is bringing back “Christmas Presence” in person! Join the fun on Sunday, December 4 following worship. Create a gingerbread house from graham crackers and candies, join in singing Christmas carols, or have a family Christmas picture taken. Mark your calendars for this special day of sharing the season with your church family!

Larry Green will have some of his beautiful stained glass items for sale on two Sundays, December 4, and December 11. If you haven’t seen what this talented artist creates, be sure to take time to browse through his work! All the proceeds go to support The Interfaith Coalition. Don’t miss this opportunity to support the work of The Interfaith Coalition while finding a personal, handmade Christmas gift!

On Sunday, December 11, the children and youth of the church will present the annual Christmas Pageant during the Sunday morning worship service. “A little child shall lead,” the  prophet Isaiah wrote long ago. Come and hear the story of Christ’s birth as shared by the young voices among us.
