Help Wanted
Keeping our ministries going is a team effort. These ministries are looking for new team members. Can you help fill a need? Email office@fccb.net for more information about any of these opportunities.
Church School Teachers: The Board of Christian Education is currently recruiting church school teachers for the 2019-20 year. This is a TWO Sunday commitment or maybe you would like to volunteer to be part of a rotating team helping to teach the preschool class ( ONE SUNDAY a month commitment). This is a wonderful gift and opportunity to get to know and share time with the children in our congregation, holding a safe space for them to grow in their faith. For more information please contact Tammi Laninga or Sharry Nyberg.
Hospitality Committee: The Hospitality Committee provides the coffee, tea, punch, and donated cookies for memorial services. The group meets four times a year to check in with each other and to sometimes donate excess funds graciously enhanced by families that appreciate their services. The group also keeps its eyes on the kitchen although our staff and Sunday coffee people do a great job of keeping it clean and ready to use. Contact Marilyn McClellan for information.
Trunk or Treat: The Christian Education Board's annual Trunk or Treat event is Sunday, October 27, from 2:00-4:00 pm in the church parking lot. There are THREE ways you can participate: 1) decorate a trunk (please come to the church parking lot by 1:30 pm), 2) donate candy, 3) help at the event. We need people to staff the popcorn machine, and hand out hot dogs and apple cider. Please help us make this year another fun and welcoming event for our neighbors. Questions? Contact: Tammi Laninga, or Sharry Nyberg.
Family Promise: Our nest week is coming up quickly for November 3–10. You can sign-up after church or watch for the online sign-up. There are several new opportunities for your involvement so consider signing up for providing a hot breakfast on Saturday or dessert for one of the meals.
Liturgists for 2020: We’re scheduling liturgists for next year. If you have been a Liturgist this year or past years, or never been one but would like to be included, or would be willing to be on a sub list — please contact Tim Shepherd for preference of dates. Your willingness to share this gift in Worship is welcomed by the Diaconate Board and Pastoral staff.
Greeters & Ushers: Consider being part of an easy and rewarding welcoming ministry by becoming an usher or greeter on Sunday mornings. All you need is a smile and to come a little early, 9:30 am. If you are willing to help with this welcoming ministry, contact Robin Williams.
Fellowship Ministry: The Fellowship Ministry serves coffee, tea, and snacks each Sunday after service. This involves preparation before church service and clean up during and after. We have thirteen teams with a leader for each team but need more people. You can either join an existing team or get together with some friends to form a new team. Talk to John Green, Jen Green, or Chrys Bemment to join in this ministry of caffeinated fun and food.
