In Good Trouble this week the Mission and Justice board would like to invoke the memory of John Lewis and his life long fight for voting rights in this country. Last week marked his one year passing, and it’s in his memory that we share an important action that is underway to gain senate support for the For the People Act (S1), the first 300 pages of which were written by John Lewis.
The Hot Call Summer Campaign is an effort to get citizens to call their senators and voice support for S1. Economic justice requires that all voices are heard at the ballot box, and S1 is written to protect and improve the ability of all Americans to cast their ballot efficiently, and without intimidation. We invite you to join us in calling your senators in support of protecting the precious right to vote.
