Juneteenth Celebrations & Family Fun:

Opportunity: Juneteenth, City of Bellingham 5th Annual Celebration – Picnics & Music

FCCB Mission & Justice Board Task Force:

Opportunity: Volunteers needed for and FCCB Mission & Justice Board task force on

Racial Justice. Learn, Listen, Act! 

What: Mission & Justice Board has applied for a U.C.C. Conference Grant to work locally on Racial Justice issues in our own community.

Climate Care Justice

 

Faith Action Newwork (FAN)  - FCCB is a supporter and member

Opportunity: Stay informed and get involved with Climate Issues statewide.

What: Statewide Interfaith legislative Action group lobbying for Climate Justice Issues.

Multifaith Network for Climate Justice (MNCJ) – FCCB is a member and founding partner.

Celebrate: MNCJ lobbied Whatcom County Council to pressure Washington Department of Natural Resources to pause clearcut harvesting of Brokedown Palace Timber Sales.

What: MNCJ needs individuals to continue lobbying and contacting WA DNR and Whatcom County Council to stop clearcutting of this forest.

Green Team:

Opportunity: Volunteers needed for FCCB’s Green Team.

When: Meetings are the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 7-8 pm

Interfaith Coalition

 

Opportunity: Seasonal volunteers needed.
What: Got two hours per week to spare? Our partners at Interfaith Coalition needs volunteers to help with weekly mowing, light gardening, and weeding at their Bellingham 4-plex (one-two hours per shift).

2023 All Hands Whatcom:

Opportunity: We have an opportunity to address the epidemic of drug use in Whatcom County - and that is our call for all hands on deck, as everyone is needed to build a robust community response to prevent, intervene, treat, and provider recovery support for those who have been impacted by substance use disorders.
What: The Chuckanut Health Foundation invites you to join us as for these community discussions at a series of related events this summer.

Economic Justice

 

Birchwood Food Desert Fighters:

Opportunity: Sharing fresh produce with the Birchwood Food Desert Fighters. As you are putting in your garden, put in a little extra that you can share with the BFDF. Remember you can share staples anytime!
What: Check the Full Circle blog or your postcard from the last food drive. There is an increased need to share.

When: Any Saturday. Drop-off between 10:00–11:00 am
Where: Industrial Bank Employee Parking Lot, Northwest Ave.
