A True Loaves and Fishes Effort – Thank You to All

Thank you to all who participated in the recent food sharing and family time. Through your generosity we were able to share wonderful thanksgiving meals, cards and games with five Family Promise families, the Ground Floor youth who are doing their own cooking, 100 plus lbs of staples to the Advent Church in Sumas, and nearly 100 lbs of turkey to the Light House Mission. A special thanks to John and Ramona Slagel for opening their non-profit, Rooted Generosity as a partner. See pictures on the blog and Facebook!! The Mission/Justice Board also wants to thank the bakers who provided pies for the Garden View Tiny Homes Thanksgiving meals!

Washington State Poor People’s Campaign – How Can You be Involved

First Congregational Church is a Faith Partner with the Washington State Poor People’s Campaign (PPC). Gail Warren from our congregation is the new liaison person who will share important information with us. The WA State PPC is encouraging all of us to stay in contact with our state and local legislators on important legislation impacting voting rights and social support for families. Your voice counts!

Interfaith Coalition Christmas Joy Support

A tradition at First Congregational Church is a partnership with our sister churches who are part of Interfaith to provide individual gifts and gift cards for families experiencing economic hardship at Christmas. Be a part of this program by picking-up wishes from the tree in the narthex or call the office to receive a wish or gift card.  Please plan to return wrapped gifts or gift cards by December 8.
