Racial Justice – What Are You Reading?
Please plan to stay on September 25 or check the display later of books others in our congregation are reading about the challenges of learning about and talking about race and racial justice. First Congregational Church supported the development of the Whatcom Racial Equity Committee as a first step in changing in our community. Join others to think about and talk about how we can be part of that difference.
Orange Shirt Day, September 30
Join members of the United Church of Christ and the United Church of Canada denominationa and others across the United States and Canada and wear an orange shirt on Tuesday, September 30 to honor the children who survived the Indian Residential Schools and remember those that didn't. Every Child Matters. In the United States, 367 boarding schools operated in 29 states to assimilate Indigenous children.
