Midweek ==> Monthly
During the pandemic we shifted many things to meet needs in new ways. Some of those shifts remain part of our ministries (worship in the Bigger Balcony/online), while others were temporary (Covid Advisory Committee). Every so often it’s good to assess what we’re doing, why, and if it continues to meet its purpose—at least, that’s what I keep saying to boards and other ministries :-).
The Midweek Message started during the pandemic as a way to keep the congregation informed as much as possible. It seemed like things were changing daily, and we wanted to have a way to communicate quickly about many topics. More recently it’s been used to share a spiritual or social reflection.
Starting in August we will once again shift, this time to a Monthly Message (I keep wanting to call it the Midmonth Message, but we’ll see what timing emerges). Connecting each of you with timely information remains important. The Friday Announcements email is a helpful venue for that; so is our Full Circle Blog on the website (did you know you can search the blog by subjects or key words?). Sunday during worship is also a great place to hear significant announcements (and if you miss a worship service, you can always worship later in the week via our YouTube channel). The Mission & Justice Board continues to keep us up to date with social action in the Mission Monday email.
