Staff Profile - Kurt Aagard, Custodian/Maintenance
Many of you have noted Kurt Aagard’s silent presence if you’ve been in the church building during the week or after a big event on the weekend—he’s the one often wearing a knitted hat and headphones listening to a podcast as he re-sets furniture, cleans, and maintains our building and grounds. Because things run so smoothly and look so great when we’re here, we don’t typically notice what Kurt does as First Congregational Church’s Custodian/ Maintenance person. That’s the way he likes it!
Kurt appreciates his role behind the scenes and seeing the results of his work. He especially likes being able to set up for various groups’ needs, as he takes loving care of the floors and fixtures and understands what each space will be set for next. Kurt plans his week according to what’s on the church calendar, setting a flow that means, if your group has reserved a space, he’ll prepare it so you don’t even know another group had been in the room before you.
On staff almost 8 years now, Kurt’s abilities and willingness to show up have never lagged. He continues to work full time (32 hours/week) even as he takes classes toward a degree in Computer Networking. Thank you for holding prayers of gratitude for Kurt’s part in our congregation’s ministries!
P.S. Attached is an easy page that will help you when your group needs space in the building. Save it for your next event!

Dinner, Concert, Fundraiser for OCWM
June 29
One Accord and other members of the congregation have been plotting and planning to bring us a delightful night of socializing and music—all for Our Church’s Wider Mission.
The evening begins with hors d'oeuvres and social time. A catered dinner will be served at 6:00 pm, followed at 7:00 pm by a concert from One Accord, "All the Way Home." During the intermission, there will be a Dessert Dash, a fun way to contribute more to OCWM. Suggested donation is $50 per person for dinner and concert, $15 per person for the concert without dinner. Reserve your spot by clicking on this tickets link. A generous donor has provided several dinner tickets for those who cannot afford the donation, so please contact Pastor Sharon ASAP if you’d like to attend the dinner this way! Dinner seating is limited.
