Support New Ukrainian Family

 

Opportunity: The Interfaith Coalition is helping to settle and house a Ukrainian family. The Mission and Justice Board is securing funds through the Diehl Fund for a refrigerator. If you would like to make a cash donation, please contact First Congregational Church through usual methods and indicate Interfaith Coalition refrigerator donation.

Opportunity: The League of Women Voters of Bellingham-Whatcom County are hosting a zoom event on statewide housing initiatives. Presenters include State lawmakers representing Whatcom County, Addie Candib, American Farmland Trust, Cynthia Stewart, League of Women Voters of Washington.

HB1181/SB5203 – Growth Management Act GMA) modifications to take carbon emissions into account.  Supported by multiple organizations and has high impact!

On-Bill Financing for electrification and weatherization.  One of COB’s Priorities.

HB1329/SB5366 – Preventing High Heat Disconnections

HB1509 – Fair Access to Community Solar

HB1427 – Extend and Update net metering policy

Where: If you are in District 40, your House Reps are Debra Lekanoff and Alex Ramel. Your Senate Rep is Liz Lovelett.  For District 42 the House Reps are Alecia Rule and Joe Timmons, and the Senate Rep is Sharon Shewmake.

Beginning February 1, we're hosting the AARP Tax Aide service again. It's one of our biggest community outreach activities!
