Hi Church- it’s Davi! Many of you have talked with me over the past few months about challenges and questions around interacting with some of the young people who share our space. I’m glad to invite you to an upcoming Zoom conversation on this topic.
Join us on Tuesday, June 28 at 7:00 pm for a Panel on The Ground Floor and our continuing connections with Northwest Youth Services. We’ll have myself, Ryan Brown Douglas from The Ground Floor Advisory Committee (and former Ground Floor employee) and Clayton Schleg, The Ground Floor Manager. We’ll ask each of the panelists to share about their experience working with young people experiencing homelessness, and think about best practices in supporting the young people who share space with us: engaging, setting boundaries, handling conflict, and more.
I hope this panel will be part of our continuing conversation, and our continuing learning and growing as a congregation as we consider how best to partner with our colleagues in supporting these vulnerable neighbors.
