First Congregational Church is preparing to help host a group of young people from Saugatuck UCC in Westport, CT. We’re excited to help support about two dozen high school youth and chaperones while they work in Whatcom County on flood relief projects, and learn more about our region! They will be in town from June 25-30.
There are two ways you can help out!
First, consider loaning out your camping pads: the group is staying at a volunteer house in Everson, and will be providing their own sleeping bags, but we hope to make their travels a little easier by providing them with sleeping pads. If you have ridgerest/thermal rest or other small sleeping pads that you’d be willing to loan, please let Davi know! We’ll need to gather the pads at church by Wednesday June 21 at 12:00 noon (leave them outside Davi’s office and they will squirrel them away!)
Second, come share a meal with the young people! We’re hosting a potluck-style meal for the youth on Wednesday, June 28, at 6:30 pm in the Social Hall. If you can bring a dish to share or want to help with set-up and clean up, please reach out to Davi.
