Sabbatical

Pastor Rev. Davi Weasley is on a three-month sabbatical from August 1-October 31, 2023. During this time, they will renew their call and their role by taking time apart. While Davi is gone, we welcome Rev. L. Page as Sabbatical Pastor.

Join others from First Congregational and Pastor Phiwa after worship on Sunday for some continuing visioning work. After a special worship service reflecting on the recent history of our congregation, we’ll gather together to experiment and explore about what might be next!

As part of Pastor Phiwa's time with us, they will lead us in some specific experiences. Here is an outline of what those experiences will be and a schedule for some upcoming sessions.

We’re excited to share a little about Rev. Phiwa Langeni. The search committee, Personnel, and Church Council selected this candidate to be our visiting pastor during Sharon’s sabbatical because of their many gifts including their ability to support our visioning this year. They’ll start their tenure on Sunday, May 8.

Last year you heard the exciting news that First Congregational Church of Bellingham and I received a Lilly Grant for Clergy Renewal. That grant supports much of what will be happening—with me and with our church—these next few months.
