World-Wide Earth Day Prayer to Mother Earth

Earth Day, Monday, April 22, 2024, 7:00-9:00 pm at First Congregational Church

A group of Indigenous Hawaiians is organizing a World Wide Prayer to Mother Earth on April 22. They already have 140 countries involved and people, congregations as they hear about it are registering to hold prayers at certain locations. We have direct contact with them through the information below and two canoe families from this group will be participating in the Gathering of the Eagles here at Lummi and throughout the San Juan Islands in May.

As the largest Earth Day event in the world, we are inviting faith leaders and groups around the world to pray with all of us on Earth Day.

We will offer a sharing of prayers, poems, songs from various groups, including our Indigenous neighbors, opening the gathering with drumming and song, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Bahai, Quakers, Unitarian Universalists, Catholic, First Congregational, Center for Spiritual Living, and the Multi-Faith Network for Climate Justice (MNCJ) and other interfaith communities.
