  • A Message from Rowan Salton at The Ground Floor:

Hi, First Congregational Church! I hope you all are having a relaxing and lovely summer so far. We have some exciting updates to share with you about the Ground Floor.

  • The Dotty Dale Youth Peacemaker Award was established in May 2021 with an initial donation of $1,000. The seed funds and any following gifts offered in honor of activist Dotty Dale, will aid the Whatcom Peace & Justice Center in supporting young activists (10-24 year old) resident in Whatcom County who have demonstrated a commitment to peace and social justice.

  • As we look forward to in-person worship this week, Membership Board has been continuing a series of conversations about a year of welcome. Every member of our congregation is responsible for welcoming others, whether that other is a first-time guest or a long-time member. After this pandemic year, it will be good to connect with friends on Sunday; let’s also strive to connect with people we don’t know well yet.

  • We are all so anxious to start connecting again and we have a lot to share and talk about! To that end, your leadership team is working to organize small group gatherings of church folk this summer.

  • Members and friend of First Congregational Church deliver the resolution, Third Reconstruction: Fully Addressing Poverty and Low Wages from the Bottom Up. It is part of the state and national Poor People's Campaign to encourage House Representatives to vote for the passage of this resolution.
